Adding nuts, seeds, fruits, nut butter will prolong satiety and slow down glucose absorption.
Our health is affected depending on the way oat is processed and what is being added to it. Instant oat isn't your friend. Which one to purchase? The one that has only oat as ingredient nothing else added ... and minimally processed.

Less processed, less change in food structure slows down the rate at which the stomach empties and the rate at which glucose is absorbed.
Oat contain special fiber - Beta glucan well-known fiber to reduce LDL cholesterol linked to heart disease. Beta glucan increase the viscosity of it’s surrounding which slows down gastric emptying. Same for your small intestine, it lines the intestine walls and slow down the absorption of glucose making it a diabetes friendly option.
Is Oat Fattening?
Unlike cattle, we are designed to eat grains ideally sprouted. Grains are nutritous, inexpensive and have been the main staple for thousands of years. Add fat, proteins and fiber to impact the rate your stomach empty and the rate of glucose. Adding nuts, seeds, fruits, nut butter modulate, reduce, slow down the rate the glucose enter the blood stream, modulate the rise in blood sugar and the rate at which it is being absorbed.
All food could be fattening when we overeat - as it is the case for inhumanly treated livestock. They're being overfed to fatten them faster, more meat in a shorter period of time = more revenues. Livestock, in a natural environment, feed on grasses, broadleaf, non-woody plants, and other vegetation found in pastures or rangelands.
Glyphosate is used to dry out conventional oat. Glyphosate increases risk for cancer. Eat organic oat.
