Certified Organic from a family farm in California. Steam treated and Viable. Flavourful mid sized hard shelled varieties Butte/Padre. These do not contain any bitter nuts. Being from California they must be treated with “dry steam” to kill any pathagens. They are only exposed to the steam for a few seconds and are still as viable as unpasteurized almonds and they can be considered unheated. Makes excellent nutmilk.
The sweet almond contains from 18 to 22 grams of protein, 54-55 grams of fat (mostly unsaturated), 19-20 grams of carbohydrates and about 12 grams of fiber. Vitamin E is present in the ratio of 23.6 to 26 mg per 100 g of edible product. One of the richest sources of magnesium, 100 g of almonds contain approximately 270 mg.
